Advanced Joint Airway Management System (AJAMS)

The aim of AJAMS is to evaluate the state of the art in simulation technologies relevant to military trauma training (Award#W81XWH-11-2-0185).

One major training gap which was identified because of the study was in critical airway management, due to the high rate of morbidity and mortality associated with incorrect or poor airway management. In an effort to address this training gap, the research team at UW CREST, was selected to design, and test a novel integrated high fidelity airway management simulator.

The resulting male and female trainers allow the users to practice intubation, cricothyrotomy, airway suction, and needle decompression on 4 thoracic sites.

AJAMS trainers are MoHSES and Biogears compatible.
